Enhanced Chair-Flying Capability
Self-Directed, Airframe-Specific Procedural Rehearsal
Modernizing Chair Flying
Neuro Journey’s Enhanced Chair-Flying Capability is a self-directed, airframe-specific procedural rehearsal solution that allows aircrew to practice normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures inside a spatially accurate virtual cockpit.
The capability modernizes traditional chair flying by providing a realistic, interactive cockpit environment that mirrors the aircraft’s switch layout, checklist structure, and procedural flow—without changing how aircrew already train.
Aircrew can independently rehearse procedures, reset scenarios, and repeat emergency responses as often as needed. The system is designed for individual use and does not require instructors, scheduling, or dedicated training facilities.
This is enhanced chair flying—made more realistic, repeatable, and accessible.
How it works
The Enhanced Chair-Flying Capability is built on a proven, off-the-shelf platform that is configured to each organization’s aircraft, procedures, and mission requirements.
Aircrew use the system to manage their own training sessions, just as they would during traditional chair flying.
Users can:
Select normal, abnormal, or emergency procedure sets
Interact with a spatially accurate virtual cockpit
Follow organization-specific checklists and flows
Trigger emergency conditions and system failures
Reset the cockpit to known states at any time
Restart procedures from any step
Repeat scenarios for focused procedural reps
The system includes interactive cockpit controls, checklist-driven logic, and optional integration with commercially available flight controls. Training can be conducted in ready rooms, offices, living quarters, or while traveling—without external dependencies.
Rather than relying on an instructor console, all session control is managed by the user to preserve the simplicity and independence of chair flying.
Configured to Your Aircraft, Procedures, and Missions
We collaborate with client SMEs to configure mission-relevant emergency and abnormal procedure playbooks based on how crews actually operate.
